Motivational Monday?

 If anything, I could use some motivation today.

I have a mound of stuff I wanna do, however, life gets in the way. Decorating, kids, work etc. 

That being said, the other twin has perked up with the knowledge of the Death Guard Codex changes that are coming soon and looking at the article on Warhammer Community they are being brought inline with the Space Marines. Wounds are going up to 2 from 1 and so are Attacks.

Like Death Guard needed a hand! I've always lost to them. Sodding disgustingly resilience....

Well, I am talking pre-Necrons New Codex so I may still wipe them when I play against them next!

Talking of Necrons, I have bolstered them recently with a squad of DeathMarks and a Doomsday Ark which I'm eager to try out. Admittedly, I was trying out my Airbrush on the Doomsday Ark and it didn't go to plan and stay with my usual colour scheme for my Sauketh.

Everything else I try to add to my Necrons seem to be sold out, Necrons Lokhust Heavy Destroyer comes to mind...

Blood Bowl Second Season Edition

 

Blood Bowl Season Two Edition is out and we take a look in the box!

Lockdown Extended...

 So next Wednesday we come out of lockdown here, only to go back into Tier 3 which means I still can't get a game in! 

Frustrating to say the least.

So what's the alternatives? 

1) Playing with the kids!

I tried and to be fair, my 7 year old enjoyed the basics of moving and shooting. As soon as you start introducing more of the rules though it soon got overwhelming for him.

2) Playing with the wife

Yea, this is a none starter (for me at least)

3) PC Games

There's been a lot of games over the years, still got Death Wing on my PC. Thought about jumping back on Eternal Crusade but it really wasn't going anywhere last time I played.

4) Table Top Simulator

This one sounds a good possibility, though it does depend on the guys I play with having it as well lol Will have a look into it and let you know.

So what's everyone doing to get their fix?

Blood Angels: Mephiston

 

My Blood Angels army has always needed a good Librarian so it had to be Mephiston who would fill this gap. For some reason though, I've always been nervous about getting him and painting him, he's one model that I always wanted to paint really well. As well as it is painted on the GW website.

Sadly, this was not to be. It looks good in my hands but up close I made a lot of mistakes. The face highlights went on real thick for some reason. I often struggle to get the right consistency, often I water it down too much but in this case it wasn't enough.  The highlights on the cloth don't show up enough in the picture, so I wonder if I did the variations enough? The blue gems (?) on his head I just couldn't get right at all.

I need to go back and finish off the gems, sword handle and other bits when I get chance.

That being said, my paint range isn't that great, I really should buy new paints and they are Citadel paints so they are in those crappy pots which dry out the paint lol Bad workman blames his tools right? lol

It's nearly xmas!

 Christmas is around the corner but my wife should note that it's not December yet so you can't put the decorations up! She will though lol

Games Workshop are bringing a bunch of new stuff out just in time for the festive season as revealed over on the Warhammer Community website. As previously mentioned, this includes the new the BattleForce box sets:

Not only that, it also includes the new Blood Angels Codex Supplement (yay!), Blood Angels Dice (yay!), Blood Angels Datacards (yay!) and the Blood Angels Combat Patrol box (Dear Santa....):

Not only that, there is also a newDeath Company Intercessor kit and a Assault Intercessor kit:

And it just keeps coming, as the new Gladiator Implusor is also going on pre-order along with all of the above!

I need another job to go along with my day job lol Time to write that letter to Santa...

From unboxing to fully painted finished model, the other Twin is looking forward to getting this one on the battlefield! Really like what he has done with the base on this one, what do you think?

New Tank Incoming! Space Marine Gladiator!

 

Warhammer Community is showing off a new Heavy Support for the Space Marines. This beast is coming up for pre-order in just over a week on the 28th November. It's a welcome change from the standard tanks I think and it comes with a multitude of variations on the weapons front.

Looks like tracks are a thing of the past now with all the recent tanks having the repulsor field technology. There are three variants:

• Valiant - twin las-cannon and multi-meltas
• Reaper - Twin heavy onsalught gatling cannon and twin tempest bolters
• Lancer - Lancer laser destroyer (longest range)

Warhammer 40,000 - New BattleForce Boxes Incoming!

The Warhammer Community Website has been updated with a look at the brand-new Battleforce boxsets coming soon (They don't actually mention a release date but given they mention updating your xmas lists it does suggest that it's a matter of weeks).

The boxes all look great and would a great starting point for any new army:

• Space Marines: Interdiction Force
• Necrons: Eradication Legion
• Astra Militarum: Bastion Platoon
• Chaos Space Marines: Decimation Warband
• T'au Empire: Starpulse Cadre
• Tyranids: Brood Swarm

All the boxes look packed so I'm not expecting them to be cheap or at around the same price as the new Combat Patrol boxes which are £85 here from GW. I'm thinking more around the £100 mark if not more. That said, there is (as previously mentioned) a new Combat Patrol box coming for the Blood Angels but with the Battleforce boxes, I'm liking the Space Marines set over the actual Blood Angels one simply because it contains more of what I need:

Whilst Blood Angels are my main love, Necrons are my army of choice and their box holds a lot more of what I need to bolster my army:

Lychguard, Canoptek Spider, Triarch Stalker, these are all on my list to get and you can never have too many warriors right?

Necrons - DeathMarks

 

Keeping busy through Covid Lockdown with these Deathmarks. When I originally bought the immortals box I didn't fancy doing them as Deathmarks. Since 9th Edition though I've hard they are really good. Having not played them in 8th I can't really comment on the changes which are eligibly good.

Can't wait to try them out, 36" range (even though they are Heavy 1) and can teleport in. Quick paint job and they are ready, not my best work but just wanted them ready even though I got plenty of time, I'm so impatient lol.  

So what next for my Necrons? Got to be the Hexmark destroyer!

More Necrons...

 

Procrastination over, I've made a start on my outstanding Necrons. That and I've finally bought a squad of Deathmarks from the guys over at Rogue Wargaming that I'm eager to make a start on and have tabletop ready for when lockdown finally ends. Having already got a Royal warden from the Indomitus boxset, this Recruit Edition one I've done slightly different and raised him up on the base. Some last minute touch ups to do before I call him done.

Blood Bowl - The New Edition

Now I'm not a massive Blood Bowl player, I got two teams and only played a handful of times. Never played in any leagues and only used the out of the box team rules but it looks like there is going to be some massive changes with the new edition.

Like I said in a previous post the new edition looks great and I'm very tempted to get it lol Warhammer Community has recently posted another article on the teams and how some of them may change with the new edition. These changes include every team and star player in production which can be found in the new thick rule book which will be included in the game box. Much better than the magazine type booklet that came with the last edition

The Warhammer Community website also goes over the teams available in the box, the human team overview can be found here, whilst the new Ork team can be found here. Personally I'm an Ork fan, the 'umies are just too fancy for me.

There looks to be some major changes to the way the game plays, so after just getting my head around the last edition, I'm expecting another learning curve to get to know all these changes.

As a bonus though, there is some freebies at participating stores when you purchase the game.

They have now released a better look at the Necromantic Horrors team .... think I may be investing in another team soon....

Another Update:

It's now available to pre-order, quite surprised at it's price tag of £85, that's a lot of minis and content for the price when compared with the previous version.The Necromantic Horror Team: The Wolfenburg Crypt-Stealers look great as well, might have to invest in these once I've got the new Codex Supplement for Blood Angels.

Armies on Parade 2020

 I don't expect to win anything but you got to have a go right? This year is my first year so I decided to go with my Necrons as the display and decided to try and make a pyramid for them to be around as if they were first awakening from the tomb.

The build itself was made using MDF off the back of an old wardrobe, hotgun used to glue it all together and sprayed black. Finally I covered the floor area in PVA glue to fix down the black sand.

Originally, I didn't have The Silent King either, so I built an entrance which was going to serve as a portal. Having Szarekh though changed things as you really couldn't see this entrance once he was placed lol. I also got my twin to 3D print me a couple of obelisk type things to place outside the pyramid. Here's the finished submitted product, with all the excellent talent in this community I don't expect to get a look in though lol
