Warhammer 40,000 - New BattleForce Boxes Incoming!

The Warhammer Community Website has been updated with a look at the brand-new Battleforce boxsets coming soon (They don't actually mention a release date but given they mention updating your xmas lists it does suggest that it's a matter of weeks).

The boxes all look great and would a great starting point for any new army:
  • Space Marines: Interdiction Force
  • Necrons: Eradication Legion
  • Astra Militarum: Bastion Platoon
  • Chaos Space Marines: Decimation Warband
  • T'au Empire: Starpulse Cadre
  • Tyranids: Brood Swarm

All the boxes look packed so I'm not expecting them to be cheap or at around the same price as the new Combat Patrol boxes which are £85 here from GW. I'm thinking more around the £100 mark if not more. That said, there is (as previously mentioned) a new Combat Patrol box coming for the Blood Angels but with the Battleforce boxes, I'm liking the Space Marines set over the actual Blood Angels one simply because it contains more of what I need:

Whilst Blood Angels are my main love, Necrons are my army of choice and their box holds a lot more of what I need to bolster my army:

Lychguard, Canoptek Spider, Triarch Stalker, these are all on my list to get and you can never have too many warriors right?

More Necrons...

Procrastination over, I've made a start on my outstanding Necrons. That and I've finally bought a squad of Deathmarks from the guys over at Rogue Wargaming that I'm eager to make a start on and have tabletop ready for when lockdown finally ends. Having already got a Royal warden from the Indomitus boxset, this Recruit Edition one I've done slightly different and raised him up on the base. Some last minute touch ups to do before I call him done.

Warhammer 40,000 9th Edition - New FAQs

New FAQs have been released over at the Warhammer Community website.

These include updates for:

  • Codex Supplement: Ultramarines
  • Codex: Space Marines
  • Codex: Necrons
  • Index Astartes: Dark Angels
  • Index Astartes: Black Templars
My main concern was that I was going to see an immediate nerf to C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer, I can fortunately breath a sigh of relief, it's mainly just text changes for clarity.

The Space Marines update just seems to be some minor text and point changes. Ultramarines however seem to be some hearty changes across 4 pages.

Dark Angels and Black Templar players should be pleased to finally see these supplementary rules to support 9th Edition.

Blood Bowl Cometh

So next week sees the new Blood Bowl Boxset go up for pre-order along with a few other Blood Bowl related things. Wouldn't say I'm a massive player, only played a handful of times and painting the models seemed like a chore at the time. That said, I've never lost a game and have two teams I can use lol.

The new boxset does look tempting though, it comes with two teams, two dice sets and the dugouts, pitch etc.  (as you would expect) but it also includes two referees, an ogre (for the humans), a troll (for the orks) and two star players, one for each team.

This is a far more fleshed out box than the last one (so I expect the price to reflect this). The current version was around £75 to buy if I remember right (I did want to confirm but the page returns an error now lol), with everything that's in this new box, I'm expecting it be around the £100+ mark.

The Orks look awesome, the humans (to me anyways) don't lol May have to invest in this in the new year but there is always so much I want from GW, if I ever won the lottery I'd probably be skint in a week.
